ZscodeThe Zharness editor
In planningBuilt on VS Code

Ask for it. Watch it pass. In one editor.

You describe the job. Zharness will run a fixed plan, checks and tests, and the AI will write the code. You read, test and change it in the same window.

It will run on the local Zharness engine.

01 Run Z demo

One job, start to finish.

Click through a sample job. It runs in your browser on made-up data. Nothing leaves the page.

    02 How it works

Every Zharness screen will live in the editor.

    60/30/10 engine

A meter will show how each project splits between deterministic code, ICM folders and files, and the agent, with suggestions that move work off the agent.

    60/30/10 Guide

A side panel beside the editor will explain the step you’re on. It will start tucked away and open only when you ask. No popups.

    Files and markdown

You’ll browse the whole project tree, including the ICM folders, and write specs in a real markdown editor. Files will save as you type.

    Intake and plan

You’ll describe the job in plain words beside your code. Zharness will split the plan by layer: data, API, UI and tests.

    Stages and Needs you

Intake, plan, build, verify, judge, fix, always in the status bar. When a choice is yours, the job will stop and ask.

    Browser tests

Real browser tests, with a screenshot for every step. Tests will decide, not the agent.

    Judges and diffs

Brand and craft scores against a 9.5 bar, and a diff for every fix round. Your edits will feed back into the job.

    Open it

You’ll open the built app in the editor or in your own browser. Nothing merges without your OK.

60/30/10, built in. 60% deterministic code, 30% ICM folders and files (Interpretable Context Methodology, by Van Clief), 10% agent. Zscode will measure that split on your own projects, suggest how to move work from the agent to code or ICM files, and offer a 60/30/10 guide in a side panel you open when you want it. Zscode will sit inside the Zspez toolset, next to Zharness.

    03 Local by design

    Your machine. Your models.

Zscode will sit on the Zharness engine on your computer. Every model call will go through that engine, with your rules in one place.

    • Talks only to the local engine
    • Open models you run or approve
    • Telemetry off by default
    • Extensions from Open VSX
    • No Microsoft branding, marketplace or models

    04 Where it stands

    In planning. Not shipping yet.

The Zharness engine comes first. Zscode work starts when the engine passes end to end. We’ll post news here.
